How to Hard Reset the Infinix Hot 50

The Infinix Hot 50 runs XOS on Android. A hard reset (factory reset) wipes it back to factory condition — the common fix for a forgotten lock screen, a frozen or slow phone, or before resale. Use Settings if you can unlock it, or Recovery if you’re locked out.

Before you start

  • Back up your data — a reset erases everything.
  • Know the Google account on the phone; it’s required after a reset (FRP).
  • Charge to at least 30%.

Method 1 — factory reset from Settings

  • Open Settings → System → Reset options.
  • Tap Erase all data (factory reset).
  • Confirm Erase all data, entering your PIN if asked.

Method 2 — hard reset from Recovery (if you’re locked out)

  • Power the phone off.
  • Hold Volume Up + Power until the Recovery screen appears, then release.
  • Highlight Wipe data/factory reset with the volume keys and select with Power.
  • Confirm, then choose Reboot system now.

Important: Google (FRP) lock

After resetting, the Hot 50 asks for the last Google account that was signed in. Have those details ready first. Locked out completely? Our unlock an Infinix phone guide covers the safe options.

FAQ

Will a reset remove a forgotten password?

Yes, the recovery reset clears the lock — but you’ll still need the previous Google account.

Does it erase the SD card?

It wipes internal storage; remove the microSD first if you want to keep it.
