Before you start

Method 1 – factory reset from Settings
If the phone powers on and you can unlock it, this is the easiest way to do a Vivo V40 Pro hard reset. On Funtouch OS 14 (Android 14):
- Open Settings.
- Tap System management (on some builds this is System & updates).
- Tap Backup & Reset.
- Tap Erase all data (Factory data reset).

A note on the Google FRP lock
Any factory reset on the V40 Pro triggers Factory Reset Protection (FRP), Google’s anti-theft feature. After the wipe, during setup the phone will ask you to sign in with the Google account that was previously synced on it. If you do not know those credentials, you will be locked out, so confirm them before resetting.
If the device is yours but you have lost access, the safest route is to remove the account remotely or locate the phone first using Find My Device from Google before wiping.
