KXD is a budget brand built on MediaTek (MTK) chipsets, so its firmware flashes with SP Flash Tool using a scatter file — the standard MediaTek workflow, which is different from the Qualcomm QFIL method used by brands like Kyocera.
When you need a KXD stock ROM
Use this when your KXD phone is bootlooping, stuck on the logo, or dead after a bad update. For a forgotten lock screen, a hard reset is enough.
Before you start
- Back up your data — flashing erases everything.
- Install the MediaTek USB/VCOM drivers (guide).
- Download the stock ROM that matches your exact KXD model.
How to flash with SP Flash Tool
- Open SP Flash Tool, choose Scatter-loading and select the
MT…_scatter.txtfrom the ROM folder. - Choose Download Only (avoid “Format All + Download” unless you know why).
- Click Download, then connect the powered-off phone by USB.
- Wait for the green check, unplug and boot.
Common problems
- Stuck at 0%: install the VCOM drivers or try another USB port.
- “BROM ERROR”: wrong scatter or DA file for the chipset.
- Not detected: hold Volume Down while plugging in.
