If your phone is freezing, stuck in a boot loop, riddled with malware, or you are about to sell it, an iQOO Z9 hard reset wipes the device back to its factory state. When you need a hard reset
A factory reset is the right move when your iQOO Z9 keeps crashing, runs painfully slow even after clearing storage, is stuck on the iQOO logo, or behaves strangely after a bad app or update. It is also the standard step before trading in or selling the phone, so the next owner gets a clean device with none of your accounts attached. Before you start
Charge the iQOO Z9 to at least 50 percent, or keep it plugged in, so it does not die mid-wipe. A reset interrupted by a dead battery can leave the phone in an unstable state.

Method 1 – factory reset from Settings
If the phone still turns on and you can reach the menus, this is the cleanest way to do an iQOO Z9 hard reset:
- Open Settings.
- Scroll down and tap System management (on some Funtouch OS builds this is listed as About phone > System management).
- Tap Backup & reset or Reset phone.
- Choose Erase all data to wipe everything, then confirm.
- Enter your lock screen PIN, pattern, or password if prompted, and confirm again to start the wipe.

Method 2 – hard reset from Recovery

After any factory reset, the iQOO Z9 will ask you to sign in with a Google account that was previously synced on the device before the wipe. If you do not have those credentials, you will be locked out of setup. This is why you should remove your Google account from Settings before resetting, or be certain you remember the password.
